A thought leader and implementer of strategic and economic development planning for public agencies and private entities worldwide, over his 25+ year professional career Peter has worked on six continents on assignments as diverse as agricultural development, transportation, real estate, tourism, and natural resource development. His key strengths include the ability to listen effectively and articulate difficult messages in a professional manner, while building teams. He is able to bring team based six-hat thinking skills to solve unique and difficult problems.
Peter has assisted numerous studies for public agencies and private land owners in conducting market and financial feasibility, expansion planning, valuation, bond underwriting sufficiency studies, warranted investment studies, pricing analyses, market assessments, highest and best use analyses, determination of appropriate project concept, mix of uses and recommendations for development phasing of projects.
His area of special expertise includes commercial themed entertainment, hospitality, resort and special retail facilities many combined in mixed use formats, but he has also worked on airports, harbors, transportation facilities and mixed use commercial developments ( office, retail, residential, hotel), and commercial projects including super-regional retail centers, regional mall facilities, office buildings, as well as large scale residential planned developments, and urban redevelopment projects. Additionally, Peter has prepared impact assessments for commercial projects and residential communities, including projection of impacts to regional population growth, employment, resident income, governmental and tax benefits and requirements for public facilities and services.
Peter has been associated with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Golf Foundation (NGF), International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA), Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC), the American Zoo and Aquarium Association ( AZA), as well as various economic and real estate organizations in Hawaii, Florida, and Utah.
Peter was also Volunteer VP Marketing for the Hawaii Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
